This thing is a 4wd super cab torsion bar 4wd. I'm broke and I gotta get the front end aligned. I can make simple tools and fixtures, I just need specs. Seems like I read that around 2000, Rangers went to negative camber and toe out to improve cornering, but I don't have the caster, camber, and toe numbers. My loser Haynes doesn't have them, saying we should all rush to the alignment shop because we couldn't possibly get these things right in a home shop. I don't believe that, and in any case, I think I can get it closer than it is. Any help would be appreciated.:icon_confused:

I'm back again with the same question - wow - no responses? Am I posting in the wrong place, or does nobody have any idea?

I don't have specs for a 2000, but my '94 FSM says:
Camber: .25° +/- 0.5°
Caster: 2.0-6.0°
Toe : .06 +/- .25°

Different suspension I know, but the specs don't vary that radically among all the different makes of vehicles.

The camber should be dead-straight (vertical) for best tire wear, and caster angle should be around 5° (but can be anywhere between 2-7°).
Similarly, toe should be straight (0°, or wheels parallel) for best tire wear also.

A little negative camber I do believe improves handling very slightly, but at a slight cost of tire wear.

Hope that helps.

You might want to pick up a set of FSMs (factory service manuals) for your truck if you plan to keep it for awhile, I always see them on Ebay for example for about $30-50 (a small yet very worthwhile investment). The FSM will have this and most other specs you need for doing your own work.
