im having some trouble doing the clutch on my 92 cavalier with a 2.2 we are tryimg to remove the strut from the spindal part and theres 2 bolts we got the nuts off but cant get the splined bolts out it says in the repair manual to tap with brass hammer we tried that and nothing we also tried a big hammer using a block of wood between the bolt and hammer, can anyone help us out all we have left is to remove the cv axle and to do that we need to get this strut out of the way
thanks in advance adam

Thread the nuts back on and wail on them with a real hammer. They will come out.

Sometimes its easier to use an air hammer with a punch bit in it to push them through.

The other option is to drop the strut off the ball joint at the bottom, that should give you enough space to remove the drive-shaft.
