i have stripped down both motors and i have one problem...there is a sensor on the crank pulley that is different from the two models and i dont know what to do. i am pretty sure that they the coils when to fire. i did a search and couldnt find anything. any info would be great!

is the 2.3 a 94 or older? They changed a lot in the block for the 95+ model year. The oil pump is different on the 2.5, there is no distributor hole, and of course the crank position sensor is totally different and they added a cam position sensor on the auxiliary sprocket.

yes it is...did alot of research last night on here and found that same thing. it can still be put in there but i have to mount the came sensor on the other which is no easy task

are you putting the 2.5 into an older truck? some vehicle information would be helpful to answer your questions.

What happened to your 94 motor?Maybe it would be easier for you to just put the 2.5 inners into your 2.3 block. You can drill the block but placement is critical.Intake difference is also there as the 2.5 will not have a return line, some other issues.
