After repainting my interior ( Way toooooo much red for me )
i started looking into new audio setup...

I redid my headliner already so i dont want any up there!
Where else can i do it?

I have bucket seats and center console and no space behind the seats becuase my tools and oil are back there! so my options are under the seats? in the door panels? or somewhere else! i need a little bass nothing crazy because i dont have much room!

And another ?

Id like to get a tocuh screen with GPS deck... Hopefully same size as a nor deck that goes in cause an 83 ranger isnt so hard to break into!

Any opinions?

Could put small subs in your doors. They make tweeters that can be mounted to the outside of the doors. For mids, could custom build box's and place under seats. Can't remember if that model had the option to mount one in the center of dash on top or not. That would be where I would put the mid if it does though. Then you could still put small amp under seat for subs in door.

6 1/2s in the door, and 4'' in the dash. this has a good sound. i ran 6x9''s and 4''s in my truck, but i would do 6 1/2''s, they sound much better and are easier to mount.

I would do 6.5 inch 2 way components down in the kickpanel and shallow mount subs in the door. You will definitely need to dynamat the doors and watch your window clearance. You may need to build out on the door panel a little.

you can fit 6x9's in the front of a 1st gen ranger door, the window totally clears it. and +1 on the dynamat. but i would get this stuff. www.fatmat.com its extremely cheap, i did every square inch of the interior of my ranger with just under 100 sqft and it made BIG difference. bass response was exceptional even with low grade speakers.

just something to think about.

if i were to do my sound system all over again, (wich i will) i would do polk audio components in the front, a kicker 2 channel amp, and an infinity basslink behind the seat.

then that truck would really rock.
