just bought a new a/c compressor for my 96 2.3L ranger, and the problem is that I don't know how much of the PAG 46 or correct amount to add if needed. the compressor is kind of hard to ID which is also I need help to know what kind is it:icon_confused: here is a picture of the unit, hope someone in the TRS would know.

The information on the label is:
Model #1082A3
Part # CO103100C
Refrigerant:R134a
Oil:SP10 or equivalent
Serial: 0004705055
I have search the internet with the information on the unit label, have found it as FS10 on ebay, but it dose not exactly match the description of the unit.
it also stated that the unit is a 7 cyclinder. I have found it confusing. this is why I am turning to the TRS for help:D
Thanks

I`m not so sure on the part number but once you put it together you know you need to take it into a deep vacuum after you pressure test it to remove all the non condensable gasses. If you dont you will be replacing the compressor again shortly Every time you expose the system to ambient air it attracts moisture and a single drop of water will create acid that will destroy the compressor. The compressor just moves the refrigerant and the metering device controls the flow so as long as the belt and fittings line up it should be OK.

Thank you Kimcrwbr1 for your reply. when you said pressure test do you mean with the manifold gauge (will be using master cool digital gauge) to test for any pressure within the system? I will be replacing all the parts of the a/c system, with the exception of the refrigerant lines. so after installing the parts could I just perform the deep vaccum to remove any moisture.
