Good day

So long story short about a year ago a lady friend threw up in my truck while the window was up and it went in between the window and door panel... Window hasn't worked since! Just seeing if anybody here has some trouble shooting ideas for a quick fix?!

Thanks in advance

Sorry, no ideas for a quick fix.
Remove the panel and use a spray bottle with water and dish detergent to soften up the dried up puke. Wipe, rinse, repeat.

Make sure your friend does the work....

I'm sure you are not the only one in history this has happened to.

I know a bit more about older vehicles, not too much hands-on on 200 up. Nevertheless there is lots of expertise and helpful folks on here.

Perhaps you could elaborate a little so that answers will be most helpful.

Power windows/locks?

If power, have you tried bumping both (one at a time) the driver and passenger switches. Do you hear or see anything (motor whine, window twitches)? Just wondering if this is more a mechanical problem (window glued/jammed in place) or an electrical one (switch/motor/ground shorted or corroded by stuff).

As stated before, sooner or later you need to get the panel off, have a look in, and take out what doesn't belong there. Disposable plastic goves and doing the job on an empty stomach with lots of ventilation is optional, but maybe not a bad idea.

Hey thanks for the replies!

Yes i have Power windows and Locks. Just went out there and tried rolling down the window with both driver and passenger switches at the same time and one at a time and I heard nothing at all.. I took the door off the day after it happened to look at the damage but I didn't see any "barf". We went out on a night of drinking so it was mostly beer and drinks that she threw up. (sorry for all the graphics)

Thanks

The switch on the passenger door is probably the problem. It most likely didn't like getting doused in hydrochloric beer.

The Drive door switch doesn't roll down the passenger side either??

What would be my best plan of attack? Put a multimeter on it? Which wire should I be testing?

The slaved switches ground the motor during operation from the master switch. If the slave goes bad it can cause the master to not work.

Take the door panel off and see the colors of the wires at the motor. Jumper the blue/black to the wires going down to the motor. If the window starts going up and down you know the switch is bad. Key will need to be on for this.

Im gonna have to do that tomorrow! Where can i find the Blue/black wire you are talking about? Thanks for the quick response

Edit; Nevermind...see below.

It should be at the switch connector, where you will be doing your jumpering.

Black/blue powers the window switches.

Ok well... i took off the panel this morning and saw a light blue and black wire connected to the window switch. I bared some of the wire and then saw where the wire from the motor run into a connector that is mounted to the door, so i unplugged it and shoved some wire into both sides and ran it to the light blue and black one on the switch. I didn't hear anything. No attempt pf the window budging.. Im guessing the motor is shot.

Thanks

Um, sorry if this is beating a dead horse. But if there were two wires running from the connector to the motor, did you ground one while jumpering the power from the blue/black wire to the other? Have you also checked the fuse box to make sure the window fuse is OK? (I guess if the driver's window works, this is probably so)

WTF dude, don't strip a good wire. Unplug it and use a piece of scrap wire to tap into the end.

Also, you can't do this test with the motor unplugged. You need to have everything plugged in and then do the jumpering from the back side of the switch connector. Otherwise you have removed the ground side of the circuit.

At this point I am not confident that you know enough about electricity to do these test properly, and I recommend that you consult a professional.

That is why you are here!

Im going back outside to test while connector is still plugged in.

Wish me luck:icon_pepsi::popcorn::icon_pepsi:

Did some research online and found a window motor by itself so assembly on RockAuto.co m and went to Autozone to see if they would price match and the manager gave me hell but he ended up doing it! i got a $63 motor for $32 :icon_thumby:

Thank you for EVERYONE who chimed in!

Lots of knowledge here. Greatly appreciate all the precaution tips
