NEED HELP 96 2wd ranger 5.0 build

I have a 96 2.3l 5sp ranger an I wanna put a 5.0 in it an I hear that the 2wd explorers from like 96-99 is the best choice but I cant seem to find 1 for a decent price any where so what would be the next best choice? would I be able to use a awd explorer without to much hassle?

Hi Sam, welcome to TRS. You can use an awd for your donor and just swap the trans for 2wd, or keep the 4wd trans if you plan to swap to 4x4 later. Read my ranger build thread, first post, for details about the swap...
