My 92 ranger die on me after I pumped had and since then it started stalling on me...first it looked as it would only do it after I drove for awahile, once it was cool down enough it started fine...but then the issue became more often....repace ignition module..ran good for one day and when back to the same...I cleaned the MAF sensor, cleaned the IAC, replace the TPS and nothing...noticed I wasn't getting enough spark so I replace plugs, wires, cap and rotor and still not enough spark and replace the distributor...after all the truck didn't want to start ...one thing I noticed is while adjusting the distributor I left the key on and I keep hearing the fuel pump and the fuel fues trigger every time I turn the distributor to the right or lil bit to left...is it supposed to that.?? I set the distributor were I could hear the pump turn on and truck starts..but still stalling and dies...pls help is my work truck..

In removing the distributor, you changed the engine's timing. You will need to get a timing light and set the timing to the engine's specs. I'm not sure what that is for a 3.0... it's usually written on the sticker under the hood.
Once the timing is right, it will be easier to figure out what the issue is. I would look for vacuum line leaks as well. They cause all sorts of trouble, and will definitely make it hard to find other issues.

One of many issues was the fuel pressure regulator and also notice the pump did not have enough pressure...replace them and now starts right up with no problem but still doing the stalling and check ingine comes on and off....I will definitely have to check the timing ...

@Nez'sRanger do you know if the 92 ranger 3.0 got a camshaft sensor or the distributor itself acts as the camshaft sensor..

1992 3.0l Ranger had distributor, no Cam sensor
1995 was first year Ranger 3.0l lost distributor and got Cam sensor in its place

I could be totally off in left field here....

But IIRC, atleast on the 2.9 theres something in the ignition module that tells the fuel pump relay to prime. If your moving the distributor, and the wires connected to the module, its possible one of the wires is shorting out.

Also, did you replace the ignition coil?

No, on the fuel pump and ignition
The computer activates fuel pump relay with key on, but only for 2 seconds, then waits until engine RPMs are above 300 to turn fuel pump on full time
Now the pulse from the ignition module, in 1994 and earlier Rangers, IS the RPM so in that sense if there was no pulse from distributor module, then fuel pump wouldn't come back on

Yeah i was thinking there was a trigger there somewhere. But i went back and looked and i was wrong. I thought it sounded stupid as i typed it, but then again, most my posts do :)

Yes I did replace the coil ignition...

I'm really lost and I feel stupid ...so there's no way the distributor would trigger the fuel pump just by moving it around with the ignition on...sorry...?
