looking at a 90' ranger 4x4 2.9L, trying to find out if a mitsubishi 2.3 will fit the tranny. if another diesel somehow fits without an adapter plate id like to know

Unlikely. The M5OD bellhousing and trans body is one piece and a different pattern

No.

If it is a 90 it could go either way, FM146 or M5OD.
