So got a 02 cavilear for a daily, and at night my headlights suck badley. Just wornder what you guys would suggest, want to keep cost down seeing as this thing is not the prettyest thing around.

HID's would be your best bet. DDM tuning sells kits for $30.

4000-5000k 35w hids for low beam. Could by a hugh beam set as well if you low and high beams are different bulbs, if you bulbs are dual filament you need a different kind of hid which retains you high beam halogen bulb

Are your lens clear/clean? If not, do that. Doesn't matter wtf you put behind a bad lens, its not going to be good.

An 02 cavie should have perfectly sufficient light output, my buddy has one and thats never been an issue and its done plenty of mountain highways in pitch black darkness at night.

Also how old are the bulbs? If you have old bulbs, or stock bulbs, you can upgrade to better ones.

X2

No reason to buy new lights when a $20 kit could fix them.

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

Faded lenses or old bulbs can both contribute to poor light output. Clean your lenses if they are faded, and put some silverstar bulbs in.

As has been pointed out many many times before, there are NO DOT approved HID conversion kits. You cannot find a street legal HID kit for a car that did not come with HIDs.

For people who feel that a properly operating standard light bulb is not bright enough for night time driving I would recommend an optometrist rather than an illegal HID kit.

Well where I live every one and there mother has hids in there cars. And the cops dont care as long as they are adjusted correctly. And not blinding every one.

While local enforcement may vary it is still true that the Federal DOT has not approved a single conversion kit as street legal and thus they are illegal for use on any public road in any area where the DOT receives any federal funding, which is everywhere.
