It is about 3x2x.5 inches made of black molded plastic. Has a 3 prong electronic type plug-in, 2 airway standoffs for airlines one of which goes to the exaust manifold and is mounted with 2 screews through the casing onto a bracket ajacent to the throtle linkage. If memory serves I had to replace it when doing an emission test many years ago. Thanks if you know???

Reads like DPFE sensor

Reads like DPFE sensor

Thats correct thanks.

So where is best spot to source other than a dealer.

And with a broken stand off is it possable that would cause the engine to sputter and stall not to start again, then randomly start a day or two later with a rough idle?

Years ago I bought a DPFE years ago from a parts store, but I don't remember which store. Try NAPA, they usually have those types of items.

You actually don't want a Ford DPFE sensor, 3rd party DPFE sensors are better in this case, and cheaper.
Any auto parts store will have one, very common part to wear out on all vehicles that used them.
They read exhaust pressure, and exhaust has water vapor in it, so DPFE sensors get water damaged over the years of use.
And it is why exhaust systems rust from the inside out :)

No, DPFE sensor failure will cause CEL(check engine light) to come on but shouldn't cause a running issue.
When you are at the auto parts store have them Read the Codes from your computer(PCM), they do it for free
Have a pen and paper ready and WRITE DOWN each code number exactly, EXACTLY!
The codes the computer uses to ID a problem are important, and the codes it DOES NOT use are just as important.
So "I think the code was Pxxxx" is more useless than no code at all.
