looks like a b2 axle.

just non rabs.

The plan down the road is to upgrade to an 8.8 rear differential (preferably with rear disk brakes).
Curious if the Explorer differential has a sensor compatible with our rear rabs connector?
Otherwise my bronco just won't have RABS.

Yes, pretty much any Explorer axle that will easily swap into a BII will have that ABS sensor… even though RABS is almost useless.

Yup. I plugged a 97/98 Explorer rear axle into my 2000 Ranger and the 8.8 out of the 00 Ranger went in my 89 Bronco II and plugged right in. The 00 Ranger not only uses that sensor for ABS/RABS data, but it’s also your speedometer. In the 89 it’s just a dumb RABS sensor and just plugged in to keep things tidy.
