i have this wierd problem on my F-150, when i start it in the morning it runs fine until its up to operating temp. as soon as the needle hits that N in normal, it gets boggy on takeoff and starts to jump around. it goes away if i put the pedal to the boards but that gets kind of annoying all the time.

so i changed the plugs, wires, air filter, ran a can of seafoam through both the tank and intake, and replaced the fuel filter. i also took the intake right off and took it apart and cleaned the inch of gunk and sludge out of it. none of these things helped.

so im wondering if it could be the O2 sensor or maybe a plugged cat.\

any help is greatly appreciated :icon_thumby:

Have you checked for a vacume leak?

Is it carb or fuel injected? If it is a carb check the power valve and make sure the diaphram on it is not rotted out giving to rich of a mixture. Easy way to check is to pull the vacume hose off it and see if it has fuel in the hose, if it does it is leaking fuel when you are at idle or low power. Stomping the gas to the floor just clears it out, then it builds back up again. Causes flooding type symptoms.

its fuel injected, but it does smell like its running really rich. ive checked all my vacuum lines and cant find a leak.

have u tried koeo and koerunning codes? same as for our rangers. there a write up and tech. could be the tps or o2 sensor...tps will make it do some crazy things, u can check the voltage and see if its bad. if u have a haynes or chiltons it tells u how to test the o2. if its not a single wire and it turns out its bad, now is a good time to convert to single

Have you tried getting it a speech therapist?

Or an O2 sensor.

does it run fine but bog when you give it gas? put your hand in front of the tailpipe to feel how much exhaust coming out. sounds like a plugged cat. if you can (without too much trouble) unbolt the exhaust and see if the problem goes away, if so, then its your cat.

O2 sensor and cat are the only things i havent checked, i just wanted to see if thosse can make my truck run like this.
