So close friend of mine bought this 2002 e350 van brand new. Always serviced it regularly. Just had a new transmission out in last year. It failed its yearly inspection this year due to some frame rust by the steering box. He offered it to me for a really good deal. So I decided to fix it up. And make it my new road trip/tow rig. Here’s what she looked like when I picked it up

Alright. Time for some scrubbing. Washing. Buffing and waxing

And let’s add a stereo worthy of a road trip

got a nice little adapter off amazon so I can play videos off my phone. Let’s break out the classics

That's a cool van. I drove a 73 E300 in the 70s & 80s W/ a 300ci 6cyl & a C6 that was cool too, I'd still have it if a scrapper hadn't got to it before we realized how my dad's memory was failing

Van's are about the coolest road trip vehicles... ever!

The configuration possibilities are endless.

Nice job. It's not too rusty on the outside. Not trying to start anything but it irks me when someone says they "service regularly" but it needed the transmission replaced.... Wouldn't regular maintenance keep this from happening?? I don't know how many miles are on it so that would make a difference. It's just funny to me when people say stuff like that.

Van turned 260,000 this morning. Those e4od transmissions were crap right out of the factory. The fact it went 200,000 before needing a rebuild is a miracle in itself.

I'd always been under the impression that the E4OD/4R100's were well regarded.

YEAH... I've seen quite a few of those piles of garbage go 200k or more.
Or when people would change the fluid and not use Mercon V... they'd get a converter shutter and blame the trans.

in the f150 world. They aren’t highly sought after in stock form. I’ve never personally liked them. But this one shifts beautiful. Whoever rebuilt it did a really nice job.
