My daughter's 86 Ranger

hate to threadjack , but jayme , how many rangers have you and z purchased before your 18th b-day ?

I was wondering the same thing... and do RBV's count? If so, I have five by my count.

Me too. Well, two Explorers, two BII's and a Ranger. Sorry :offtopic:

I took a vacation day today and got to spend a beautiful afternoon in the junkyard. I managed to find my seat belts, visors, door sill, and a number of plugs/clips type things. It was in the mid 30's and the snow was melting. Going to work on getting that stuff in tonight and then the gas tank in tomorrow. Last week, I was able to get the seats modified and bolted in and installed the interior panels. I ordered some speakers, hidden antenna, and beltline weatherstrip so will be waiting for that to get in. Will take some more pics tonight or tomorrow and post so you can see the improvements.

She got the Ranger on Christmas morning and has already learned how to change the oil. She will help give it a tune up and change the shocks before she can drive it. I have a week of vacation now so will hopefully get a lot of the little things finished up since I still need to make the bed sides and console. I hope to have a lot of it done by the time she gets back next weekend. Here is a picture of her in the truck after I told her it was a 4x4. I was kind of surprised because she really likes the flatbed.

truck has turned out great. she looks like she's really happy with it! good job!:yahoo:

^ That's the best part of your build, right there. Makes you know it was allllll worth it! :icon_thumby:

She looks thrilled to have it. Merry Christmas, mate. Great build!

if you guys get snow out there just make sure she knows how to use the 4wd , when i was young(er) and dumb with my first 4x4 , i had it a day and while driving in the snow i put it in a ditch , after replacing $500 worth of parts i learned real quick to leave the hubs locked in all times in the winter , and to flip it to 4hi when the roads are covered

(note to self : lock hubs in when i go outside )

Sorry pics are not larger because I set the pics for medium on photobucket when I first started and haven't figured out how to change it.
These are pics of my daughter installing the rear shocks.

These are pics of her doing her first oil change. She actually offered to help finish changing the oil in my F150 yesterday. Kind of took me by surprise.
