Hey guys still pretty new to this But I wanted to start a build thread still trying to get a feel for this so give me a break.
First off I got a 93 ford ranger it's a 4 cyl 4x4 5 speed currently changing motors and doing a Dana 30 sas. I'm still trying to figure out how to post pics so ill get some up as soon as I figure it out

I'll send you a PM with a nice detailed writeup on how to use Photobucket..

<a href="http://s1343.photobucket.com/user/dange5375/media/bluerange_zps71aeecbe.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/o793/dange5375/bluerange_zps71aeecbe.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo bluerange_zps71aeecbe.jpg"/></a>

don't use the attachments on the forum at all.. if you just copy/paste the IMG code from photobucket, you'll have it.
should look like this

i had a little time today to mess around but had to clean my garage so that i could start tearing it apart. should have the front end off this weekend if everything goes as plained. and what do you guys think about running a 3 link setup? i am making my own long arms was gonna go with the 3 link :dunno: but heres pic of the truck now and my axles that i need to start working on to btw

another D30 build....damn, what is that 3 or 4 going on right now?

i did a 3 link when i put my D30 in. I used currie johnny joints on the frame end and energy suspension bushing on the axle end. for the arms i used 2x2x.25 wall box tube. some people on here have used the iron man long arms, but i did my entire D30 swap for less than what they cost.

Yeah I ain't looking to spend the coin on a long arm kit when I got access to all the material and a machine shop. I can get a Dana 44 and a ford 9in full width for cheap :headbang:but I am gonna keep the 4 banger in it sence there ain't a whole lot of these trucks around and I think that the full widths are a little much for a 2.3 lol

Geared correctly it would be fine, and it would never break lol

well guys no update on the truck my slave went out of my daily driver so i had to put my lifted 94 ranger on the road and me being the wise guy that i am went out saturday and had a few to drink and got it stuck in my buddys creek and took all sunday getting it out :annoyed: but anyway on a plus note i did order my rough country 6.5 x.j coil springs and the flex joints that i need:D so hopefully i can get crackin soon or it aint gonn be done by the time i want it done.

As the others have said, another D30 build to watch.

I used the same coils and got 5 inches of lift after they broke in.

While the axle is out of the truck do some stuff to it such as gusset the C's, make the mounts as solid as possible such as boxing them in and centering the spring pads over the axle tube. Basiclly all things that I wish I had done before I did my swap a few years ago.

Yeah I plan on doing the gussets and boxing the mounts but do i need to move the spring mounts what if I don't am I gonna have to move the sway bar forward? And I'm gonna but a piece of 2 in angle across the bottom of the passenger side axle tube my buddy's big into jeeps and I've seen them bend alot.and I plaint on building my coil buckets like a jeep pretty much like (ben parker's)escortgts's I think that's his name on here lol my buddy's got a plasma table and I think I'm gonna have him make some spiderweb gussets for the Dana 30 to add a custom touch hahaha

Only reason I moved the coil mounts forward is my coil buckets in the frame were already there. You should be ok with the axle mounts.

And yep, that is me.
