i have bled the brakes multiple times along with the master cylinder(just replaced calipers hub assembly and locker mod)and the brakes are still mushy-any help would be grand thanks -Spud

Did you try adjusting the rear shoes? Not sure about a 99, but on the older ones you just back up fast and hammer the pedal...worked on mine when I thought it was something else...and that is right in the Haynes manual

if your adjusters are still working on their own that method works well and it also makes people think "what the heck is that guy doing driving so fast in reverse and slamming on the brakes?" my last ranger needed help getting adjusted though, so i would just have to crawl underneath and use my brake spoon to fine tune them again.

Lol...yes, they say that about me...I've done mine about five times...

I spent the last few days trying to make mine less mushy...found that when I redid the lines I had a very small leak coming out of the splitter on the front...finally fixed that by replacing the whole line to the driver's side flex line from the splitter...

So...look closely at all and any connections for even the slightest dribble of fluid...if anything is not completely sealed it will result in a mushy pedal...

thanks guys-working on a new driveway brakes will have to wait :(

If you live in the rust belt, the chances of the auto adjusters still working after the truck is more than six months old is pretty slim.

If ur sure there is no leaks... dealer trick if nothing works and u dont have a pump machine... hook a hose on the bleeder other end submerged in brake fluid... pump brakes a few times (clear bottle works better to see bubbles) watch brake fluid keep topped... start with RR... LR... RF... LF... the activate abs on rocks or something... if that does work u might check adj then if not that how long has it been sitting or with bad brake fluid master cylinder might be the prob... BTW this is how i bleed my brakes by mine self but with 4 bottles lol
