Hey Ya'll! I had a curious question. I was looking at some rims the other day, and I was wondering, what rims will fit my truck? 1988 Ranger.

I was thinking of the old school Hailbrand Mags, Torq Thrust D's or similar AR Mags. Something even as far out as a set of Turbine's like off the General Lee Charger. I'm trying to think outside the box. Hah.

Mine came from the factory with 14" grey painted Steelies. The truck, when I got it, came with and still has a set of American Racing Outlaws on it. It has blue anodized knock off's for the center caps.

Any Ideas of what would fit would greatly help. I know where I can get a set of Turbines and a set of Torq Thrust D's that are both 14".

Also, I've heard that 15" wheels were availble for my truck. Whats the difference besides size? Would that affect my Speedometer any?

As long as the backspace is roughly 3.75-4", bolt spacing is conical 5x4.5 and it fits in the wheel wells it will fit.

Changing tire sizes will change your speedometer too, how much depends on how big the jump is.

You can use a tire calculator to see if new tires have a different diameter than your stock size. They will also tell you what percentage +/- your speedometer is off, if any.

here ya go.

Ohhh. Right on. Stallion, I am' digging those rims. Bad A@@.

Ranger, the profile of the tire, say... going from a 185 to 205 will change the Speedo too?

Thank You Teddy. :D

Any change in tire size will change the speedo. If you look in the tech library there is a bunch of stuff on changing the speedo gear. Its super easy. The hardest part is finding out what gear to replace it with

the torq-thrust wheels are available in virtually any bolt pattern/backspace combo you could want.when i got them for the gt,i was surprised to find them in the metric pattern for the jag rear, and in stock at the supplier.

your speedo will only be affected by the outside diameter of the tire, most tire suppliers will have dimension charts for various tire sizes-this was also how i selected the tires for the gt.

I have a set of Eagle Alloy clones of the Torque-Thrust on my 1996 Longbed Ranger - 8" wide 16 inch diameter - replacing the 14" stock deerfoot alloys - with 235/60 tires within 3% of original diameter/speed.
