I did not find anything about these in my search so I am hoping someone can help me out. I ordered these plates on ebay a couple days ago, they are listed as swap plates to install a SBF into a ranger or explorer using any of the factory motor mounts. I got them, knocked the rust off and realized they are Ford production parts. So can someone tell me what they are from? Im guessing an Explorer but I have not read anything about these, also does anyone know which side is which as they are not marked that I could find. Also can someone tell me if the plate welded to the top of the smaller one is factory or was that added at some point?

Thanks for every ones help, you guys have saved me tons on this build so far.

Looked up that part number on Google and nothing shown but that same number is on a set I have for an Explorer V-8. They are direct swap items for a '98' newer Ranger 4x4. For the earlier ones, have to make them fit, That plate is on mine also, drivers side, must be for re-enforcement but why not on both sides? The one with the added plate does have the notch cut out for the little boss on the 5.0 block, not sure how close these plates are to a 4.0L. The two smaller holes should be 7" apart for a 302/5.0L

Thanks for the info, the driver side is the one that receives a lifting force which is a greater load explaining the reinforcement plate being there which makes sense. I'm curious as to how much work it will take to make these work on my '95 2wd but I cant see them being to different considering they have the same motor mounts but then again I've said that about a lot of things that have turned around to bite me in the ass.

Take a look at my build thread, first post. I used these same plates on my swap. It shows the mods needed to be done for them to work...
