I read iN another ranger forum that a guy swapped a instrument cluster from a navajo into his 94 ranger because he likes the lettering more. I came across one at the junkyard and decided to snag it for my truck. Last night i plugged it in and really none of the gauges work but maybe the coolant gauge. the circuits did look a little different on the back side though. Does anyone know if they're different, or if i just picked up a bad cluster? Also can i just pull the gauges out of the mazda ckuster shell and put them in my original ranger cluster shell? Thanks

What year Navajo was the cluster out of ? You can try plugging the Navajo gauges into the Ranger cluster if the pins look the same.

The navajo cluster was a 94, or at least thats what the junkyard said. Even the pins are different in the gauges.

Now it was in the junkyard in a vehicle with a broken sunroof and we did get alot of rain. Those clusters seem pretty straight forward though and if theres no visible damage i assume its fine

Is one a tach cluster and one not ? It's kind of strange the gauge mounting pins are in a different place.

Theyre both tach clusters. Ill take pictures tonight

I'll go ahead and revive this thread rather than creating a new one. I finally swapped in all the gauges and they all work except the speedometer reads 20mph fast and bounces all over the place. The cable is new and the old one never did that. I'm trying to figure out why it would read faster than the old one because I thought the gearing for it was all at the t-case. Anyone have any ideas?
