Ok here is my situation I have my explorer 5.0 installed all the wires run everything is almost ready to start. So I figured I would call the Ford dealer and ask about introducing my explorer ecu to my existing pats system. They both are pats type b so I figured it would be no big deal.
When I called I explained what was going on and he said it would cost about 200$ yes two hundred just to see weather or not they can do it and from there it could cost up to 500 dollars so I said I would get back to them friday to see if i have to go this route.
So my question to everyone is do I have to pay the dealership or is there a cheaper route.
I am to the point where I would just throw down the money but it is just obnoxiously expensive.
Is there issues mating the Mazda pats and the explorer pats? I figured since they are both made by Ford I wouldn't have a problem but the dealer seemed like it was a big deal.
If you have any suggestions please let me know I am supposed to have this done by next Wednesday because that's when I go back to school.
Thanks
