I'm going to be putting a 4.0l from a 93 explorer into an 87 ranger.
The explorer is an auto, so i have to convert everything over to manual for my ranger.
My question is, what master cylinder do i use with the 93 slave in the m50d?
Can i use my 87 master?
I know i have to get a clutch line for the slave cuz the end is different.
Thanks

If the ex is an auto , where is the 93 master cylinder coming from?

I think he meant "Do I get a master that's the same year as my 87 truck, or one that is the same year as the 93 trans I'm putting in?"

I switched my 89 Ranger 2.9L from auto to a 93 Mazda trans & clutch, and used the 93 master, line, and slave per AllanD's advice. Works perfectly. The choice of clutch master is important due to different bore sizes resulting in different slave travel.

Yeah, thats what I meant.
Did the 93 master bolt right to the firewall and connect to the pedal just fine or did you have to modify anything?
I tried searching for this info, but came up empty.
Thanks

Mine went in without any mods. I'm not sure if the 93 Explorer and 93 Ranger clutch masters are the same (probably so), but if so they should be a straight swap. Mine was for a 93 Ranger 4.0L .
