2.3L ('83-'97) Mass Airflow Sensor

Hell all-I’m looking for a mass airflow sensor for a 1997 2.3 Ranger. I have tried 2 aftermarket ones now and no luck. I try a friends sensor from a 1996 and it starts up no problem. I’ve tried calling around for a new Motorcraft one and no such luck. Besides searching junkyards here and there, any suggestions? TIA

Correct. One lasted for a few days then died. eBay special. New Oreillys one didn’t even work. Swapped for the nearly 30 year old one and it starts up perfectly.

I bought this one for my 1997 2.3 three years ago and it has worked fine ever since:

I bought one at pull a part still in the housing. Really old.
best $5.00 I may have spent at the yard.
Was replacing bubbas aftermarket junk.
Junkyard and motorcraft is your friend

OP-
I just got the Liam Neeson movie name reference. Trucktruck.
The day my adult son and I watched the movie, we couldn’t stop walking around and saying “truck, truck truck truck ”. A terrible movie truth be told.

Of course then saying how we could disassemble a Kenworth to the frame is 12 minutes.
Awesome.
I always take my sockets out now and line them up so I can slam a ratchet into them
