I just bought this truck and I fell in love with it. Honestly when I first bought it I just seen it as a cheap little truck that would get good gas MPG. I am just going through a little rough road as a lot of people are right now, usually I do alright keeping myself caught up on everything. I let my daughter drive my 95 F-150 back and forth to work, she was running hot and just kept driving trying to make it home.(cracked head)/ I was driving down I-16 going about 65 MPH and my little Ranger made a sound like a gear grinding just for a second and it jumped into neutral. Now it will not go into any gear 1-5 or Rev. stuck in neutral. I live in the Savannah,Ga. area and would be willing to drive 150 to 200 miles to pick it up. I live off of my disability payments and am not asking for charity. Just if someone has a used manual transmission that would work it would be a tremendous help right now. I do wood working in a little backyard shop and make lawn furniture out of pvc wood I would be willing to trade the bar height tete-a-tete chairs I just got through building also a $900.00 value. They are really well built, glued, screwed, and bolted and very beautiful chairs if interested in trading transmission for chairs I will send pictures. That way I could maybe pay for shipping with the $400.00, I just really need a transmission for my Ranger. Thank you all for your valuable time to read this I am very grateful for everything in my life. I will not just sell the chairs only, trade for all or fair monetary value on transmission. Thank you all again. Sincerely, Steven Sloan

The 2.9 is a V6 that ended in 92.

You probably have a 2.3L 4 cylinder.

Not trying to be a prick but dont go shopping for a 2.9 trans as it will be no use to you

you can try www.car-part.com

If you'd like, I can rebuild you trans in a matter of 2-3 hours. For $150 in parts.

You *most likely* ran it low of fluid, and it ate the pocket bearing between the input and main shaft. This is an easy fix, and I have plenty of these laying around. Or, I can swap you a good trans for your bad one for $200. I run all 4.0/5.0 stuff, but have a good trans I was gonna use for pics of the case in a future article on the M5OD.

I live in Bham, AL.

Make sure which engine you have, (pic help) I have a 5 spd for a 3.0 just sitting. It was rebuilt about a year befor the motor exploded. less that 10k on it. If it will fit, come get it. I'm in Tallahassee.

Try LKQ in Daytona they usually have quite a few rangers in their yard. It's a you pull it yard about a mile off of 95. You can also look at their inventory online and see pictures of the vehicles when they went in the yard. A little bit of a drive from Savanna.

What is "PVC Wood" ? I thought PVC was a plastic pipe.

Do you have a means of changing that transmission?

ASS U MEING it is a 2wd....they had a few in the 220-280 range at my local yard last i was there....that is in detroit area. so you will likely have the same in your area.

Hey man, I really hope a perfect trans comes up for you.

PVC wood im assuming hes reffering to that plastic stuff that looks like wood. I believe the proper name is "extrusion" or something along those lines. It lasts way longer then even treated wood but ive heard its a bitch to work with and is pricy.

If this dude makes lawn furniture with it he must have way more paitence then me
