I got a manual 1354 transfer case for my 99 ranger and I have everything except for the front drive shaft.

I know I need to get a different driveshaft but I'm really confused as to which one I need. AllenD I believe said that a 95 or 96 explorer shaft will work but the ones I have found are exactly like my 99's output yoke. Then I have found that some people say the double cardon shaft will work and I have found plenty of those and thats what was on the truck i pulled the case out of.

Which one will work?

Or could I just take apart bot cases and swap out the front yokes so that I can use my existing shaft? How do I remove the front yoke to swap them? is it like the rear where the bolt is accessable from the outside?

I would try using the shaft from the truck you got the case from. Seems to me the SLA D35 is in about the same position as the TTB one would be, so I don't see why it wouldn't work (pretty sure the yoke is the same on the axle, though I haven't actually verified).

Well I unfortunately didn't grab the driveshaft from the truck and its about 60 miles one way.

Do you know if I can just swap out the front output yokes? the manual one with the u joint type front unbolt without me having to take the thing apart, I would assume the half moon one would also be able to unbolt?

The 95-96 explorer front driveshaft is equipped with a double cardan joint at the transfer case. Look harder as it is the shaft that for sure will work. They do exists because my 95 has one...
