Tire size was 235/75r15 and got 225/70r15, really going to be that big of a difference? I see factory size on that year goes between the two.

I didn’t pay any attention to the order confirmation they sent me.
Also, they didn’t take my best tire for the spare cause the spare size is a 16…. Guessing now I gotta find a new rim too?

The 225 is about 1.5" shorter than the 235, that's going to throw your speedometer and odometer readings off. Assuming that your speedometer was accurate to begin with, when it says you are doing 60, you'll actually be doing about 57 with the new tires.

That and the appearance being off are probably the biggest changes that you'll notice.

Your spare tire may be a different size than stock, not exactly uncommon for spares. It won't really matter if it doesn't match the new tire size, it's for temporary use anyway and won't hurt to run mismatch on that for limited miles and speeds.

should be a slight improvement in power and braking. only about 5% though.
2wd?

yeah 2wd extended cab sport. My son did say he felt the braking was better but didn’t notice any other difference. Trying to decide if it’s worth making a hassle about.

My sons truck so slower speeds are a good thing lol

I use a phone app to check my speedo readings.
Its on google play; digiHUD speedometer by James Moss.

Kid's... truck don't worry about it.

Less strain on the trans while doing brakestands. :icon_thumby:

The speedometer will read a little fast and the odometer will show a few more miles than it's travelled but it will function fine otherwise. Being a 2wd it sits a little lower than a 4x4 so the shorter tires are less likely to look dopey. If you ordered the wrong size by mistake I wouldn't sweat it, if a tire store sold you the wrong size I'd have them install the right size. If your son knows the speedo is reading too fast he may underestimate his speed and get tickets. Gauges are best when they're accurate.

I stopped back by this morning and the manager wasn’t to happy no one from the store checked and confirmed the current size and tire info sticker in the door. Taking it back later today to be swapped.

That's your best move...
