Ok so I have a 99 ext cab ranger 4.0 4x4, my auto trans went out and I chose to swap over to manual. I picked up what I believe to be a 88-94 m5r1 (didn't know that at the time of purchase) the trans is 2wd (this I knew). I knew I had to get a 2wd driveshaft so I went to parts galore and pulled one from the the exact same body style ranger matching mines, however it does not fit it's a few inches too short. Do I need a 88-94 driveshaft or do need to have one made? I'm at my wit's end on this.

Here are all the different choices in driveshafts for a 1999 ranger. Looks like you need to be more picky as to what engine it has when you get one. They will take the one back won't they?

Why are you going to a 2wd transmission on a 4wd truck?
