I need new syncro's for my tranny, gonna order a rebuild and the best deal I've found is THIS GUY on Ebay but they say they need to know how many teeth are on the 5th and reverse slider, anyone know what the break point is so I don't have to break into the thing before I get the parts?

Thanks!

They want $50 more than the ebay ad, I know there's the 30 and 36t options, but there's gotta be a breakdown of what got what... I'm working on getting the transmission degreased enough to work on, if I pull the tail housing am I going to be able to see the 5th/reverse syncro? (I'll search in a minute...) The transmission in question is a E8 part number from a '89 4x4 2.3 truck.

found my answer HERE apparently the 36t is pre '92 and the 30t is '92 and up, so if my tranny has never been apart like I imagine it's a 36t but looks like I can just pull the tail housing (or T case adapter, whatever) off and count the teeth, easy cheezy, now I just gotta drain it (hind sight, should have done that in the truck but was running out of daylight)

If you would have read the link I posted for you instead of looking at the prices it also told you of the break in years. That site is only used for reference. I have a local guy who I buy my parts from and he is also cheaper. But if you go to cheap you get what you pay for!

I did look at that, it says '88 up on both 30t and 36t, wasn't trying to be unappreciative or anything...

You alright

Go deeper into the kits...it tells you there. I don't know why it just does.
