I am re-installing a new transmission into my truck, and I noticed the bolts I had layed out for re-installation were moved and all jumbled up. Given that there are 4 long bolts, 2 medium, and 2 short bolts, what position would the bolts go back into the transmission?

Thanks!

If you have it out still, I'd set the bolts thru the bellhousing and see how far they stick out in each place.
I just found this:
There are 3 different lengths of bolts used. 2 long ones on the bottom, 4 medium length bolts on the sides and 2 short bolts on the top.

So, the bell housing bolts seem to match 1 7/16ish out of the engine block at:

Small
Medium
Large
Large

going from top to bottom on the bell housing.
But that doesn’t seem right for having all the largest bolts on the bottom.
The other thing is I have 4 large instead of 4 medium bolts
