Bought my 93 a couple months ago, the previous owner was into the evil clown
and Haloween type stuff - ugly stickers all over the back windows I had to scrape
off and the shift knob is a skull. Repulsive.

Would just like to find a plain round black or white basic shift knob.

I took the skull off and found there aren't any threads on the shift stick -
just some vertical splines, so nothing to screw a knob onto. Probly will
have to just find one with the right sized hole so it pounds down tight on
those splines.

Maybe I should just drill out a cue ball?

Any ideas appreciated!

I bought one recently from Wal-Mart...it is black with a chrome ring...didn't really like it but it had the things I needed to mount my blue knob...there are little allen key bolts that screw in to keep it from poppin off in your hand...couldn't find them sold seperate...

It is not a pressed on fit so these screws are needed...so, yeah, they can be bought...think it was only $20 for everything...

My friend did a yellow #1 cue ball for his yellow Edge. Looked pretty sweet. I think he drilled it out and glued the sucker on.

if you like the look & feel of a wood knob you can pick up a wood ball at a place like jo-ann's, hobby lobby or in the wal-mart craft section, then drill a hole to the needed size, use a little silicone to help secure it to the shaft. you could even paint it to suit your taste. or go get a hurst and use any 3/8-16 knob you want, or the stock hurst ball or T-handle.

Do you even understand billiards a little bit?

OP, I have a few shifters around here that will fit your truck. Trade straight up for the skull?

I don't play billiards. Why? Did I call that billiard ball the wrong name? I'm guessing that the yellow ball is just called a regular billiard ball and the white un-numberd ball is the actual cue ball? I did a little research beforehand after I made the post. LOL

yeah the only cue ball is the white one, the rest just go by number

I played "pool" quite a bit when I was a teenager...billiards refered to using the red balls with the four or five other colors...when we used the numbered balls it was refered to as "Boston Balls"...

Didn't really care too much about it to find out why...it was a good way to spend time...but my Mother always thought "pool" and "drugs" went hand in hand...guess it had to do with hanging out with sharks though...

Ford dealer has them new for the newer rangers. I paid less than $20 for mine. I had the stock one that was smooth from use. I like the newer style better. Not as round. Almost squarish at the top.
