I'm looking for a non AC air box for my 1984 Ranger. 2.8L v6

I've removed most of the AC crap beside the condenser and the airbox since its the ductwork for the blower motor. I'm tired of having a big bulgy thing taking up space on the passenger side of my engine bay.

I have one from an 86

I’m in nc an free if I can find a 86 wiring harness for engine

The guy I bought mine from started cutting wires but I’m not around the housing I can post tomorrow an honestly I have a spare dash bench seat etc I want to get rid of if someone comes an gets it an makes me an offer

You might be able to patch and replace the wires if you can trace them. Is it a V6? Ive heard of that 2.9 having a carb intake.

My 2.9 is fuel injection

I know, Ive heard of a carburetor intake manifold you can swap on that motor. Then you can put on a 4 or 2 barrel carb with the duraspark system.

The only thing that’s wrong I have no spark an when I turn the key to the on the fuel pump constantly run but will not start they cut the inertia switch completely out of the harness an cut the wires off the fuel relay

WHY!?!?!

Thats stupid!! Maybe getting a constant hot wire to the pump and then wire up a GM HEI + duraspark dizzy and then have it running?

NOTE: Ive never worked on the 2.9 before.

I work little on them but I have 2 86 ranger one short bed with camper shell an the other xlt long bed
Long bed don’t have motor
I just want to get it running because I would love it as a work truck

That’s why I’m hoping someone can help me
Well Ill keep an eye out here in GA for a 86+ ranger and a 2.9 harness!
