I have started fabbing up a winch bumper for the 'Sploder. Looking for ideas to finish the sides. Don't know whether to just cap the ends and let it be, or make something to wrap around a little under the fender. I have looked through several posts and have seen many both ways. Kinda leaning towards just capping the ends with maybe a 2" tail hanging out but thought I'd try to get others opinions first.
Thanx.

i would wrap around just a little....on a plate style bumper i think it makes it look more "finished"....not to mention on some really narrow trails will want to protect the front fender some

by what i can see looks really good:icon_thumby:

you outta come with us on the trail ride Dec. 12th.....check it out in the Events Forum

awesome did you fabricate this yourself? am looking to have front bumper fab for a 03.

Another one for wrapping it around. IMO, I think it looks better, in addition to offering some more protection.

OK. Now for the big question. How far back should I come? It's like a foot from the front of the bumper to the wheel opening. I don't really want to cover all of it. I'm thinking 2x2 square tube with some plate to blend it into the angles I've already got. If you knew how hard it was to bend those side pieces, you wouldn't wanna re-do them either. I'll see what I can come up with and post up more pix later.

Thanx for the input. It is very appreciated.

Maybe you can steal some ideas from mine, I used 2x2" tubing for the ends, with the bumper tapering up to them. They go back almost to the point where I trimmed the fenders for tire clearance.

I agree with Junkie....take them back to almost the fender openin'....or whatever you prefer:icon_thumby:

and your idea to use 2x2 with some plate to tie it all in would look great
