I have a 98 Ranger 2wd 4cyl 5 speed. It's a single cab.
It has the factory 14" alloys and car tires right now. I've already ruined one tire from a rock cut. The gravel in this area is really sharp, and I drive on it a lot.
I want to upgrade to ~28" tire. To get a decent AT or MT selection I need to step up to at least a 15" wheel. Looking to run a 235/75-15
Discount tire is offering a 100.00 rebate on select wheels for July 4th, so I figure it is wise to get a set now.
I am stuck between these in a 15x7. (~220 shipped after rebate)
Or these in 15x7 (~250 shipped) or 16x8 (~300 shipped).
I'm thinking that tire selection for the 16" won't be nearly as good. Most 16" tires are LT and at least 30", while I can find 15's in an AT pretty easily.
Thoughts on which would look better? I'm leaning towards the first one, being cheaper and having a better tire selection. I think the second may look funny in a 15". Tire selection in 235/65-16 and similar is not that good either.
