Hey guys I posted a while ago about putting a coyote in my 2011 4x4 ranger, well im underway, engine is sitting in the truck, hoping too make mounts this weekend, I'm just looking for the factory pin out for the ecu and connector c110, the engine too truck side of things. looks like gauges are can bus so im hoping minimal work too get them functioning then a little too make them accurate. im assuming starter and everything else goes through this plug also? I found one for an earlier truck but nothing lines up so I need one for a 2011
Thanks

I’m about 20,000% sure you need the ecu from the coyote donor. Don’t think your 4.0 ecu will know what to do with that. Having the entire engine compartment harness for the coyote would be a very smart way to start.

Im sure the 4.0 ecu wont mind 2 extra cylinders...

Your kidding right? Clearly I’m going too use the coyote ecu and wiring harness. But I would also like the rest of the truck to function. You know. Speedo, 4x4 indicator, coolant temp, ect so I was looking for the truck side. A lot of that stuff goes through the ecu so I will need the pin out too integrate the new Pcm to the truck.

You can’t just put a coyote ecu in the truck and expect too have gauges and turn the key and have things happen.

The wording of your original posting was misleading.

I believe speedo, 4x4 indicator go through the gem but not the ecu. Many vehicles have 2 separate coolant temperature sensing devices. The sensor sends the info to the ecu. The sending unit drives the gauge on the dash. Starter should go directly to the starter relay - no plug.

I would recommend getting the EVTM for both vehicles. Then you can figure out what new stuff ties to which old stuff. EVTM’s are usually available online, often in eBay. With these books, you can draw on your changes so that when troubleshooting a problem later, you have a hard reminder of what got tied where.

No GEM on a 2011, its a SJB... :icon_thumby:

Indeed it does. I dont have my diagram within reach but lots of things go through the SJB and not the ECU. When I'm done being lazy ill scan the pinout pages from my workshop manual for both the ECU and SJB.

Fighting with not one but two ECUs with integrated PATs systems and an HEC cluster should be fun. Just a ton of useless work just to keep the factory guages in my opinion. I do admire your gumption.

I printed out all the Shop key wiring diagrams. I have all that and started drawing how I’m going to do it. Boy there’s a lot of wires! Hahah. But I didn’t see a pin out for that plug, c110 but the pcm is right on the engine side of it. So i could trace the wires from one too the other if I couldn’t find a pin out for the c110 but only pcm.
but I can’t fine either so I know the can bus wires go though the plug as well as several others I need but I’d rather not guess which is which just by wire color because I’ve had them wrong before. I would like to know location.
I dont know if this makes sense. So really what I need is the pin out of the ranger ecu or c110 plug

You can buy the full service manual in .pdf for $30

I paid almost 200 bucks for all 4 paperback manuals and another 20 for the atsg transmission manual! :temper:

The regular 2 part workshop manual doesn't have wiring though, thats a seperate book. And even the wiring diagram book lacks some stuff in the transmission wiring manual but I doubt he's using a stock ranger trans in a coyote lol.

When I bought my ‘88 F150 new in ‘87, I ordered all the paper shop manuals (only kind they had back then). I remember it was pricey. But those books served me well over the years. I recall I had a big book that was all electrical drawings. But it wasn’t called an EVTM

The big books, at least for the older Rangers, Ford simply called "Wiring Diagrams". They're good for tracing wires throughout the truck, but otherwise lacked any kind of other details.

On a swap like this the EVTM (Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual) would be the most help to you. They have the connector pinouts, wire colors with circuit numbers, and detailed schematics (but with larger systems being on multiple sections of diagrams). Watching eBay is best way to get the books for a real decent cost, or, for getting a copy on CD or as a download.

Sorry, I don't have any manuals newer than 1994, or I'd copy the C110 pinout for you. Sounds like an interesting swap; Good luck!

Following. I'm waiting on RP Caster to ship the rest of my S/C kit. If I'm still at a want for power, this, or 2.3 EB was my other idea.
