now i have no clue what the numbers mean, but i understand what wires/where they need to go that i would need.

are those boxes relays?

Yes the boxes are relays, the numbers will match the pin-out on a relay and they are really easy to use, once you use one you'll see they make life SO much easier and complicated but, you can do some really cool stuff, like the "GM" radio mod(radio stays on after your key is off till you open the door)
