Looking at a 93 2wd mt with the 3.0. I've never owned one of these and would like to know what to watch out for/ expect. How reliable are these motors? What are the problem areas, thanks Matt.

The engine itself will pretty much run it for as long as you want it to. The trannys do go out from time to time.

Keep an eye on the tranny fluid level. The man trans are prone to leakage by the shift rail plugs. If the fluids are kept maintained and the vehicle has had a good maintenance history this drive train is very durable.

Manuals are pretty good. My 93 3.0 Auto is crap.

The engines tough, but a little tired at 150k. Needs a tune up.

The auto transmission however, is on it's way out. I'm just slowly waiting for it to go. I hear that the manuals last almost as long as the engines. Damn near forever. As always, watch the clutch. A poor driver for a previous owner could have messed it up.
