The parking brake on my xlt super cab 99 ranger does not release especially on one side. Do I have to replace the lines or can I clean them somehow?

replacement is what works for me. I'm in the rust belt, we get lots of practice replacing them.
quite often some rust has snuck in and caused the casing to swell, restricting the cable.

Where do you get them?

You’ll need to know your wheelbase (center of front wheel to center of rear wheel) and which cable(s) you need.

You may want to go to a NAPA store and give them your truck info, and let them look up the necessary cables. I don’t want to steer you wrong.

at times I've had issues with the wrong replacements. then I took the old ones to a NAPA to verify the size.
went to Ford for my 2005. their VIN match always gets the right parts for me.
unfortunately many parts for the older Rangers are no longer supported by Ford.

for parts that have multiple options I shop local.
