Lightning front brakes on a ranger???

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 2wd. I was wonder what it would take to fit Lightning front brakes on my ranger. I was planning on my summer rims being Lightning wheels. Could it work?

For SH1+s and giggles I took a look at this...

From what I can tell: F-150 spindle is MUCH larger than the Rangers, so without a bunch of custom machining, you can't put Lightening hubs on Ranger (didn't even look at how brakes lined up....).*

Which leaves you with spacers - Ranger pattern inner/F-150 pattern outer. Not sure if you want the wider track or not.

Front brakes? not without a TON of work, more than it would be worth.

Now, you could probably get a set of adapters made to fit the wheels.

What kind of set up are you planning on running for the winter?

They're not even close. The F150 has a much larger spindle, and bolt pattern than the Ranger.

If you want bigger brakes, there are a few dozen guys, including myself, that run Mustang brakes. They still require a good bit of work, but the bolt pattern is the same, so it's not as difficult as converting to Lightning stuff.

If you just want lightning wheels, run adapters. If you want bigger brakes, sport trac brakes are larger and easier to fit without a lot of custom work...
