Reaching out to get some insight from others on doing my lift. I'm looking to lift my ranger which is a rwd 2.3l. Right now I'm looking at possibly piecing together my own lift kit but would love more input from others on this. I'm looking to add about 5.5" of lift and move from my 32.5's to 35's. I'd like to be level in the rear, but it will be fairly well loaded down with all the overlanding/living gear installed.

I was kind of planning to basically build out a higher quality version of the fabtech 5.5 kit or the Maxtrac 6" kit.
Doetsch spindles or maxtrac's.
BTF or Doetsch UCA's
Need springs, somebody had mentioned camburg's but I'm not sure which ones.
limiter straps?
bump stops?
I'll need a rear shackle & block
Also leafs/add a leaf
Fox 2.0 x 6 remote res shocks

I am 100% open to suggestions, I'm not afraid of cutting and welding to get a better kit/more travel but budget might be an issue. I'd like to get out of this for $2700ish or less including shocks. I'm not going to desert race this truck or anything, it's job is more of an expedition vehicle/overlander.

Have you read thru the Tech Library's suspension section?: https://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/index.shtml

The front is where you spend the money, in most cases the rear can be raise with blocks and longer u-bolts which is cheap

I have read the tech library, however most of it is outdated at this point. There are some busted/dead links and several products have been discontinued. It seems like as the new rangers are coming into existence some of the old stuff is being dumped by fab shops and retailers. I might do a short writeup on this and the parts etc. for the library when I'm done.

That was why I listed some fairly specific parts and my idea's going forward. I'd love to go buy a camburg or BTF kit but I can't justify the expense for those. I figured if I did some spindles with UCA's I could eek a bit more travel out of the truck along with the lift and some extra leafs would let carry the weight and reduce the size of the rear lift block I'd need.

For what you are looking to do, I'm not sure if the limit straps are necessary. They are more for preventing you from busting your shocks or breaking suspension components from a sudden unloading of your suspension. Overlanders typically don't do that kind of driving. It won't hurt anything to have them but they shouldn't be necessary.
