lift kit tire size questions ( technical library charts

Does anyone know whatrim level the tire size charts are for in the technical section? Would they be for a 4x4 only? Should I assume I need 2" on top of what it says? I have a 2008 2wd xl. I would like to put on 235/85r16's with gears of course. I know these tires fit my 04 edge2wd with no lift just fine.
