Outher day my old compressor gave up one me. Been a good en but its time to stop messing with it, and buy a new one.Looking for one that would handle painting, I have 3 trucks that needs paint, allso would like to run a sandblaster for small-midsized stuff.
What cfm?
dual or single stage?
Im guessing the more hp the better?
and on the oiling? selfoiling or manual?
PRetty well need the low down on compressors. Dont wanna dump 500+ on a pile of junk. thanks

If you want to run a sandblaster, think big, they use a hell of a lot of air.

A true 5 hp two stage, 80 gal will produce 16-18 cfm of air flow, and will be the minimum to run a blast cabinet. I have a 7.5 hp two stage, 80 gal tank, 24 cfm airflow, and it does OK on the blast cabinet, if you are doing something large, it can get behind also.
