Lets Go! 4 WHEELING WITH FORD

Only truck i had with the old style auto hubs was my 96 F150, had a manual transfer case though.

But what im getting at is i used them hard numerous times and never had an issue...lucky maybe?

I've heard the same from other people, I don't think the autos are fragile, just, Ford is doing cya and warning you they are a convenience item and not as rugged as manuals.
They engage/disengege when you reverse direction, they work different than manuals.

I think you can make something work without being rough or abusive
Maybe that's the difference
My concern is busting that cam when going back together with it, and I've done it far too many times already.
I use a rubber mallet and an old Mag light flashlight end that was as close as I could find to tap it back together, and sometimes it takes a lot of taps.
If the cog or the groove it goes in gets flattened I shape it up with a small file
