Kind of worried...

Had the new transmission installed but the guy who did it, didn't install the filter I bought. He didn't drop the pan to see if one was installed because it had a new gasket already on the transmission.

How would the transmission "act" if the filter wasn't installed? Would it operate correctly?

FWIW... It drove and shifted fine on the way home and what little I drove around the neighborhood.

It likely wouldn't "act" at all. It wouldn't shift, go forward, engage, or work at all. The filter doubles as the pickup tube for the fluid pump. No filter no fluid pressure.

Reman transmissions ship complete. That includes the filter and usually fluid too.
