Is the “slip” in the tranny or the Limited Slip Diff?

I haven’t been around for a while and that is a good thing, however I have a problem.
Truck is a 1996 Ranger, straight cab, 7’ bed. it has the ECM, 5.0, tranny, and 8.8 Limited Slip rear (2 wheel only) diff from a 1999 Mountaineer.
I have 50K on the build. I always let the truck run a few minutes because it has the high idle when cold.
When turning out of my driveway to head to the right (most of my turns seem to be right) there is a VERY noticeable length of time between giving it pedal and the truck actually engaging.
I have never noticed this same phenomenon taking off from a light, the only difference between the turning take off and straight take off is that the rear is also warm by the time I get there.

I am wondering if this could be some kind of disc issue in rear? Or all in transmission?
thanks for looking!
Happy New Year!

All transmission. Make sure the oil level is correct on the dipstick. Most older factory limited slips are worn out by now, and they just act like a open diff when they are worn.

A differential wouldn't/couldn't "slip" as described, OPEN or L/S

So it would be torque converter or 1st gear slip, the left or right turn is odd

Well, that is what I was thinking. So, the tranny is starting to flake out.
Donor was a former “Little ole lady” vehicle that a 30 something wrecked. 183,XXX on odometer and it looked factory when I dismantled it. So now, engine and trans has 233,XXX.
Transmission pull in the future, there is my son’s GM truck in front of it.

Thanks!
