hey staff. I have been here before I just forgot my user name and password. recently moved etc. The help I recieved before was excellant in trouble shooting my engine problems. Top shelf as they say. Well I am retiring my v6 4.0L Push rod 286,512 mile motor for a rebuild of the same. I have come to the station for some excellant advice and / or direction.

There has been some interesting discussion concerning cylinder head choice on these 4.0L engines. Piston design vs cylinder head combustion chamber design vs computer software configuration...

I guess what I'm saying... be careful choosing components in your build. Not all things play nice together.

Also.... these days you really need to watch out for junk parts. It's horrible out there.

Uncle Gump, I have had nothing but problems with my motor. it eats money and drinks change. so at 281K miles I figure time to replace it. What I am asking is what is the best way to get another motor. Ford, in Vegas, doesnt even have parts for it. i am very mechaniclly inclined but dont want the headache of rebuild myself. its very hard to trust machine shops here,in fact i dont at all - dif story. im not sure where to start my research in this matter. im stuck at GO without a keyword to type in google. dont hold my hand just kick my ass in a good direction if you can.
