01 Ranger 4.0 SOHC 62K. I have what seems like an intermittent miss. When I give it gas (moderate acceleration) it feels like there is a miss. This does not happen all the time. No codes. Cleaned the MAF and the TPS checks out ok. The truck runs great 99% of the time. Also, when in park the rpm's will not rev over 3K. Fuel filter was replaced @ 55K.Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know how u feel Ive had the same problem with my 01 edge. basically I've battled with my #3 spark plug loosening no matter how tight it was..finally locktighted it in. then I had code p0174 its a lean code but i also developed a horrible miss and my exhaust tip was black..on the scanner it showed a miss on cylinder #5,pulled the sparkplug it was black so replaced it & the #5 injector incase it was bad..after the compression test i decided to look at the o2 sensors well I discovered that the one on the driver side was disconnected(due to transmission shop neglegance) put all 3 o2 sensors in and no more miss and it gets much better mileage..as a side note my CEL never came on but the code reader showed problems regardless
