Hey all. I decided to swap my 60/40 bench seat to buckets with an explorer center console. I went down to the junkyard and came back with my new seats and console. I think it turned out great.

Looks like its supposed to be there! I wanna do that. I'm glad to see that there's plenty of clearance between the shifter and the console, I haven't really seen any good pics of it finished like yours. I plan on cutting the drivers seat extra part I have now off and putting the console in. Did you have to drill holes in the floor for the bolts?

Thanks. I think so too. yeah you have to drill six holes. but its not a big deal. I just drilled pilot holes and then used self tapping screws.

When you drill the holes do you go all they way through the floor?

the pilot holes? yeah. the screws were slightly bigger so they make the hole a little bigger when they screw in making it a tight fit

Ok cool. I just wanna make sure I do it right when I get it. Thanks!

The 94 I had for a few months had a center console and it was a little loose. When I tried tightening the screws, they stripped out. I used a bigger size and snugged them down and it wasn't too bad then.

When I installed a center console in my 95 2WD I used bolts, nuts, washers and lock washers. That's what I would recommend...

Where did you get your seat covers? They look pretty good.
