On 2.3 duratec is the intake air temp sensor integrated into the MAF sensor or the MAP sensor?

I know it's not it's own thing, its part of one of them.

My intake air temp readings are quite a bit higher then the ambient air temp readings. Now if its part of the MAP sensor this sorta makes sense since the MAP is right on top of the engine sucking up all the heat. If its part of the MAF however the readings make less sense.

Today for example I got a 82 degree ambient air temp reading and 125 degree intake air temp reading.

Also where is it getting the ambient air temp reading from? Again, there is no seperate sensor for this reading?

Depends on how many wires are on what... If the MAP sensor is 4 wire then the temp sensor is probably in it, if it's 3 it's just a MAP sensor. On the MAF, I don't know, but if it's more than 3 I would imagine it has temperature in it since that's how many of them work...

Chilton's says it's a part of the MAF.

Both the MAP and MAF are 4 wire... so now im really confused. Thinking maybe the MAF is the ambient air and MAP is intake air? They are two different readings on my scanner.

Intake air sensor is integrated into the MAF, cannot be separated.

Map sensor is on top of the manifold. It definitely uses both a map and a maf sensor.

Ford says your MAF sensor is 6 wire... that means the IAT is built in.

yep, just looked. I have a 1S7A 9F479 AB map sensor on top of the intake. strange (really?) that my 2000-2011 Chilton doesn't mention it.

Hmmmm ok then so MAF it is... it definitely seems to be reading too hot then. 50 degrees over the ambient outside temp seems high when the MAF is well away from getting heat soaked by the engine.
