I'm not sure where to ask this?

my '88 now has 96 beams and brakes. it measures 49 1/2 inches between rims, measured directly under the ball joints at the lip at the widest point of the rim. the rims are stock aluminum rims.
i have not noticed any great protuberance of tire from the wheel well but i would say , if there was no rubber on the rim and a straight edge was put on the outside of it, the edge would hit the fender about a half inch into the wheel opening. hope that helps.
oh, for those red necks amongst us, protuberance means 'stick out'
Thanks for that info. I'll measure when I get a chance. I used to have 7" wide aftermarket wheels on the front but now I have 15x4s so it shouldn't be an issue.

Its a two and a half cylinder trapezoidal head 19 main.

15x4's? Are you making a race truck? What do you got for an engine?
Never ask a man what he has under the hood... wait until he offers that information.

lol. It's cool. It's just a 302 now but I have another 302 and a 351w in the shed if I can decide on which one to really build.

and i was wrong about the rims sitting on the axle flange. the drum is about 3/16 thick and goes on the flange, then the rim. the disc is closer to 1/2 inch thick so it should make the back axle seem 5/8 wider than a drum axle
