i have another question

so i have an m5od-r1 that went in an 89 ranger and the rear output seal was broken so i took it out and got a new one but it wont go in. i noticed there was another inner seal im not sure if that was part of the old seal or not can anyone tell me if i need to take this out to get the new one in

the new one wont fit i've tried everything people have suggested i even watch a video and the dude just slid the seal in and the only thing i can think is that this is part of the old one but i wanna be sure before i take it out
 
That looks like the inner part of the seal that is inside of the dust boot that is behind it
 
There's two divets on the side where you could get behind the seal lip, drive it out that way or at least enough to get a screwdriver behind the lip to pry it out.
